oh cmon..!! how did i miss it..!!

go ahead...bash me up ..!!

well i kinda missed a great oppurtunity to watch the drag race which was held at khargar.the event was called the SPEED RUN(a two day event) and was held in navi mumbai for a change(surprise...surprise!!)...the last year event was a huge success and cidco decided to have it in navi mumbai..cool...!! now the only thing left for me was to go and attend it..but my shitty habit of laziness...I REALLY HATE IT !!

anyway i had asked some of my friends on the saturday(the qualifying day) if they would be interested in joining me...but the response was lukewarm...so even my motivation started flagging..the raceday approaches and its 10 in the morning...im still in bed..the thoughts about going for the event cross my mind but i lazily give it a miss...i go about doing my usual chores for the day and voila !! fro calls up(at 1 pm) and asks if we wanna go for the event...and im like "dude why didnt u say it before!!"...so i decide to go for the event...bath taken in haste..i rush with my bike to khargar...only to find out that the event is almost over..damn it !!...on my way to the race i see a hot chick in a modded suzuki zen(hmm...since when did this start happening..??), lots of modded honda city's,a mitsubishi lancer evo8 trying to show off and lastly a ferrari 550 marranello...breathtaking...it was kinda intoxicating to hear its exhaust note... but most of them were leavin.. :-(
most of the modded cars have left the venue by now...rcq and fro by this time reach the race site...we head for the event only to find a huge circle of crowd...we manage to get in and we see a honda s2000 being a centre of attention...someone from the crowd tells us that gautam singhania(of the raymond fame) owns it.im like "ok so what next..?" he then walks to his car cheered by the crowd...he takes it for a spin..cool i cant believe my luck...maybe some act of providence !! i scamper to record it on my camera phone...manage to take snaps and record the videos...it was awesome...!!

after the event i suggest that we go to nearby hilltop and evryone agrees .we just take out our bike and car only to realize that we are following a corvette and a lotus elise...rcq wants a snap of it so decided to giv it a chase the phone being with fro...i follow them...rcq is trying hard position himself for a good snap...accelerating his matiz(yeah right...a matiz racing with a corvette !!).. a santro and a f***all rickshaw try to pour water over his grand plans...but then he finally succeeds in it and there u hav it..we successfully chased a corvette in a matiz..!!!...hav a look at the pics..the guy in corvette happily poses for the snap...hehe!! we are all happy... :-)

incidently this is the same stretch of road where the famous "dhoom-esque" bike chases were shot..!!

we then head for the khargar hilltop...the winding roads seem to be taken straight out of needforspeed-2 se..the view from the top is surreal !! and the snaps justify it...we then decide to call it day...and these guys head for (what else ?)cs ..hehe! i return back home all excited...and show my first experience with drag race to my mom and dad and they are happy for me !! :-)

so there u have it my first brush with an event of this sort leaves me begging for more...but i still regret the laziness...ofcourse you can say that it will be held again next year but then...

ps: rcq and fro on their way to khargar saw a full blodded aston martin(donno which one..) and were blown away...tried chasing it but couldnt...

a week worth remembering for some time to come..!!

hey im back again...
its been quite a hectic week...jst gave my toefl exam...got a range of 220-277
can say that im pretty satisfied with the outcome...!! :-)
basically lost marks in the listening section where i didnt pay attention...donno why that happened...was thinkin i was screwed when got a 5 minute break after the listening and structure section...but recovered to give the remaining two sections well...so im kinda happy...and fingers crossed for the final toefl result...
now looking forward to gre...for which a LOTS is to be done... ;-)

also last week i had gone for a trip to a beach near alibag and it was a awesome timepass..!! Havent seen a clean and pristine beach for some time now and thoroughly enjoyed it...even simple things like the waves crashing into ur feet or the sound of breaking waves seems so pleasurable to one's ears...also had fun playing "dog and the bone"(yeah i cant believe we played that game...!! and we screwed Gautam's team everytime), a box cricket match which was a tight affair and still we won !! we played two matches ...the first one was cakewalk and the second one really funny... (amazing..i still find it funny cos gautam's team couldnt score even 14 runs in like six overs..!!).Then we played on the beach for some more time,clicked photographs and then while returning went to the nearby "Birla temple".It was a awesome experience..the calmness of the temple simply soothes one's nerves...it was definitely a picnic worth remembering...

switching to favorite topic:Football (of which u guys will hear a lot !!) ...chelsea got screwed by barca...and that caused Raunacq to make a impromptu switch from chelsea to barca...hehe !!
its damn funny reading the comments made by the blues manager Mourinho about "Messi"...while a similar incident involving the liverpool goalie "Reyna" and "Robben" didnt even evoke a response from him... anyway the champions league always brings out the best from any club and thats what it is all about..!! also it was disheartening to hear liverpool to lose to benefica after playing well in an away game...benefica scored a goal jst 7 min before the final whistle...cruel, but thats football and that makes the return leg exciting...looking forward to one more of the fantastic european nights at Anfield. GO LIVERPOOL...!! :-)

ps : the michael ballack rocket was simply stunning..!! also real madrid suck bigtime and arsenal turn a corner by winning an away game for once !!

finally got some time out of this busy schedule to make my own blog...

thanks to fro for prodding me ...actually should hav done it a long way back...
here one realizes the meaning of all those sayings..."procrastination is the thief of time" et all...
but then there's also a saying..."better late than never"...hehe..
